Funnels guide
Last updated August 4, 2026
A funnel shows how visitors drop off across a sequence of pages, for example /cart → /checkout → /thank-you.
Creating a funnel
In SimpleStat, go to Settings > Funnels and add a new funnel with a name and at least two steps. Each step is a path plus a match rule, the same options as goals: Path is exactly, Path contains, Path starts with, or Path ends with. You can add as many steps as you need, and reorder them, the order of the steps in the form is the order they're checked in.
Saving changes to a funnel replaces its full step list, so it's fine to freely add, remove or reorder steps and save again.
Reading the funnel chart
On your dashboard, the Journeys panel has a Funnel tab. Use the dropdown there to pick Automatic (SimpleStat's own built-in funnel) or one of your custom funnels. The chart tapers from wide at the top to narrow at the bottom, one band per step, sized by how many visitors reached that step. Hover a band to see its visitor count, percentage and drop-off. A callout below the chart also calls out the single biggest drop-off, so you know exactly where to focus first.
